A Personal Milestone

This month I reached a very BIG goal that I was running for with my Rodan + Fields business.  I earned an all expense paid trip to Napa Valley to meet the doctors, tour the corporate office, and be wined and dined by the best San Francisco has to offer! I say that as I am picking my jaw up off the floor because I had NO IDEA I would be able to achieve this goal and I am still a bit shocked as to how quickly it has happened!

For ME, this is not about the trips, the levels, or the promotions (although I don't mind them!)  THIS is about growing a business where I get to work flexible part-time hours, FROM HOME (with my Stella girl), and do something that is FUN with super encouraging and inspirational women from around the country. I have girls on my team from Houston, Seattle, San Antonio, Tyler, and Dallas. We have a very FUN culture and have developed lifelong friendships along the way.  We may be running our OWN businesses, but we are NOT in this ALONE. I would not be where I am today without my amazing team :)

Thank you to my bestie Katie Schulze for giving me the courage I needed to take this leap of faith when I was SO skeptical that this would work for me. I had the misconception that this was a business model where only a FEW would succeed and I have been proven wrong time and time again... Now I can personally attest to that. SO VERY THANKFUL I took this leap of faith as I am well on my way to REPLACING my full time salary in Corporate America in just 8 short months.  If I can make this happen, anyone can!  (I never everrrrr thought I would do direct selling)

If you are at all interested or curious about finding out more, I am happy to have a casual conversation with you.  You can email me at abbymisegades AT gmail DOT com.  I actually have 3 business partners (and now close friends) that became interested in this business as a result of this lil ol' blog of mine. Lets get the conversation started to see if this could be a good fit for you- The HOLIDAYS (AKA when you are on social OVERLOAD) is PRIME TIME for jumping in so you can share with everyone you will be around over the next 2 months!

You can check out my products HERE or research the business HERE

Stella Rose : 10 Months Old

If there every was a month of DRASTIC change, I feel like it was THIS MONTH.  You have come a long way since your cute little crawls last month... Now you are flat out EVERYWHERE. You are crawling FAST from room to room following us wherever we go.  You are pulling up on any and everything!! (The little boo boo on your nose is from your face planting on the corner of my bed while trying to pull up and slipping on our wood floors.)  You have SUCH a personality now- You have a bit of a temper when you get frustrated or angry but honestly you are basically happy ALL DAY LONG. You get a tiny bit shy around new people and kind of hide behind my shoulder but within minutes you are reaching out to that same "stranger" asking them to hold you. You melt every person you meet with your smile that truly can light up a room!

You also repeat things now which is so cute.  You can say " Uh Oh" "Baby" "Mama" "Dada" but still not sure you understand the context.

You love to feed yourself both food and bottles. You are obsessed with PUFFS (Baby Crack) and you still love pickles.  You have also tried macaroni & cheese and avocado... Not sure how much of it actually gets in your MOUTH because typically you are just spreading it all over your tray and occasionally dropping it onto the floor.  You still just have 2 little bottom teeth.

You got sick this month for the first time and we had to do a week of breathing treatments which was BRUTAL.

You also had a wicked diaper rash that came along with your virus so we had "naked days" and laid quilts all over the floor for you to play on.  You LOVE LIFE Naked.... Its hilarious.

You also went on your first swing at the park this month and LOVED it! Your hair blew in the wind and you smiled and giggled. It was adorable.

You LOVE being outside and going on walks and we now go on the Katy Trail 2x per week with Miss Meredith.

We have started bedtime stories and prayers with Daddy after he gets home from work. We are running low on French books so definitely need to order some more!

You are wearing 12 month clothes now - all the 9 month clothes are way too small and even your 6-12 month pants have turned into capris ;)

You are still eating 6oz every 3-4 hours and we are slowly but surely working in the solid foods in the mornings and in the evenings.  We also started you on a sippy cup and juice! You LOVE white grape juice and apple juice!

You go to bed around 8:30pm and wake up around 7am.  You are napping consistently every morning from about 9-10:30 AM and you rarely nap in the afternoon. You are TOO BUSY to do that ;)

Your FIRST HALLOWEEN :) Gigi and Mimi/ Pappa came over and we used trick-or-treating as an excuse to finally meet some of our neighbors.  You also ate a sucker AND tootsie roll pop and loved digging the candy out of the bowl for trick-or-treaters.  SUCH a fun night!

This has been my FAVORITE month so far... I feel like you grew from a baby to a toddler in just a few weeks and its SO MUCH FUN! You are truly my little friend and buddy and I love how every morning when I come get you, you are standing in the corner of your bed, smiling HUGE, waiting for me to come pick you up :) Melt. Me. Thank you GOD for the blessing of sweet Stella Rose.  We are blessed beyond measure.

Abby Leigh Media Holiday Special!

ALMChristmas

Hey everyone!!! I have kind of neglected promoting my Abby Leigh Media business here lately because my Rodan + Fields has been keeping me VERY busy BUT that does NOT mean I haven't been working on some great projects!  I thought I would share my latest slideshow that I did for my dear friend Debbie. She had this made to document her son's first year and she played it at his 1st birthday party and it was a BIG hit!  I was teary making it and thinking that in 2 short months I will be putting together Stella-bugs! They GROW and CHANGE SO FAST... And I love that through slideshows and pictures you are able to watch it unfold and savor it just a little bit longer.

I am running a special for $50 off any slideshow or movie package when you book before December 10th so that I have time to prepare them BEFORE Christmas gets here! I think a slideshow / movie of 2013, a fun family vacation you want to document, or a milestone birthday would be a meaningful and creative gift idea for grandparents or hubbys!  I am also busy working on 2 rehearsal dinner slideshows right now - So let me know if I can help you put something like this together for your special occasion :)

Sicky Stella

Well this past week I have been MIA with my sick baby girl.  After Halloween, Stella started having "cold" symptoms and I figured since the weather had cooled down and she had been outside maybe it was allergy related. I didn't want to be the first-time Mom who rushed to the doctors office for them to say she has a runny nose and to stop overreacting.  SO we were waiting it out... until Wednesday night when she was up for almost 2 hours screaming.  Nothing could console her - cuddling, walking around, a bottle... I went to CVS at midnight and talked to the pharmacist only to hear there was nothing she could give me or any child under the age of 2 that would help with a cold.  So I went home...When I got home she had finally worn herself out from crying and fallen asleep face down in our bed next to Logan.  I carefully transferred her to her crib and called the doctor first thing Thursday morning.  Her wheezing had gotten worse and her chest sort of crackled with she was breathing BUT she didn't have a fever and overall had her peppy energy and was her normal self.

I took her to the doctor the next day and we found out it was a virus called bronchiolitis  which is basically bronchitis in the smaller lung tubes.  We had to give her a breathing treatment and pin her down for 10 minutes and she let the entire office know how the felt about that...She's always been a GREAT communicator.  The treatment helped but didn't totally get rid of the wheezing so we were sent home with the breathing machine and told to use it every 4 hours.  She has gotten better with the treatments as long as we have Sprout on TV (really loud b/c the machine is so loud) - It makes her a bit drowsy and subsequently she's been napping and sleeping MUCH better which has been a welcome relief for this tired Mama! She had a check up yesterday and they told us she is still improving but we need to continue treatments until its totally cleared up.  We are thankful we took her in when we did because sometimes this can develop into a pneumonia and other (younger) babies can be hospitalized if it gets too bad! It's hard watching her sick... I feel totally helpless BUT I do enjoy the cuddles :) Thanks so much for your prayers! We are definitely on the road to recovery now.
